About this app

Mundus: Impossible Universe is a match-3 puzzle game that dresses the old swap-and-match formula in hand-drawn planets, shamanic vibes, and little narrative beats about a Great Shaman and his granddaughter. You line up three or more tiles to clear them, hit explicit goals per level (collect gold, catch butterflies, break stones, you get the idea), and earn rewards that let you ‘build’ or reveal bits of each planet. Simple core. Little twists as levels progress. Play it on a bus. Play it when you should be asleep. The controls are classic: tap or swipe to match. The goals change each stage so it’s not the same brain drool over and over. Music and visuals lean detailed and quirky — the art's not glossy AAA, but it’s handmade enough that you notice little things. No ads, according to the devs (I didn’t encounter pop-ups during my runs). There may be optional in-app purchases for boosts—if that matters to you. “Are you stuck on this one?” “Yep. Two hours. No shame.” Pause. I want to say this loud: this isn’t a clicker pretending to be a puzzle. It’s focused on matching. Don’t expect a huge meta-game or endless shop-swirls. What you get is bite-sized puzzling with a faint cosmic mystery stitched through so you feel like you’re traveling, not just clearing levels. The difficulty curve ramps—slow at first, then it pinches. That’s where most players either grin or throw a phone (I came close). If you like short sessions and a little story thread, Mundus fits. If you need hardcore combos and leaderboard gladiator fights, maybe not. One more thing — some specifics were thin in the store copy (seasonal events? guilds? cloud save?). I couldn’t confirm those. So: try it. See if the vibe hooks you. Then tell the devs what to add. They asked for feedback, and honestly, I felt like they might actually read it.

Editor's Review

I played Mundus late one night because I couldn’t sleep and then—surprise—I wasn’t sleeping because I was hooked. I’m not saying I solved the whole game. Nope. I got stuck on a planet where you have to catch butterflies while breaking stone tiles and I cursed (softly) for about 20 minutes. The match-3 mechanics are honest and clear. No smoke. No fake complexity. It asks you to think, not to watch. Sound and art carry the mood. The soundtrack is calm but weirdly addictive; visuals are hand-drawn bits that make each planet feel like someone painted it in a notebook and then set it to music. I liked that. I also liked that I didn’t get ambushed by ads mid-level. That’s rare. Seriously. But — and this is a mild but real gripe — the pacing can feel stingy. Some levels feel designed to nudge you toward buying boosts (I didn’t buy anything, fyi). Also, I wanted more clarity on long-term progression (will my planets keep growing? are there events?). The store page promises updates and asks for feedback; hope they follow through. “Do you want me to keep going?” “Hell yes — but fix level 34.” Overall: Mundus is a solid, soulful match-3 for players who like a little story and pretty planets with their puzzles. Not perfect. But memorable. I’d recommend it to commuters, casual puzzle fans, and anyone who enjoys games that don’t scream for attention every five seconds.

Pros

  • Hand-drawn planet art gives each level distinct personality
  • Clear, focused match-3 mechanics that reward planning
  • No interruptive ad pop-ups during play (store claims no ads)
  • Short, varied level goals keep single sessions fresh
  • Calm soundtrack that actually helped me focus on tricky boards

Cons

  • Difficulty spikes that may feel pushy without optional boosts
  • Long-term progression systems (events, cloud save) are unclear
  • Some levels seem tuned toward optional purchases (possible pay-gates)
  • Occasional repetition after many hours of play
