About this app
Pet Rescue Saga throws puppies and kittens into color-block puzzles and asks you—brutally—to save them. Match two or more blocks to drop pets to safety, use boosters to bail you out, and watch the pet-city (Petopia) slowly grow. Sounds cute. It is cute. But don’t be fooled: levels spike in difficulty, events appear and vanish, and yes—those extra-move offers are everywhere. I lost track of time playing a handful of levels late-night (hand sweaty, heart racing). There are weekly quests, biweekly pet growth events, and thousands of levels—so the grind never truly ends. Free-to-play? Mostly. Pay-to-advance? Sometimes. If you like match-3 with personality, constant updates, and pets that actually make you care, this one’s worth a spin. If you hate microtransactions, be prepared to grit your teeth.
Editor's Review
Okay—full disclosure: I have sunk embarrassing hours into this thing. No joke. The core mechanic is stupidly simple: match colored blocks, clear a path, save the pet. But simplicity turns sneaky when the board spits out cages, fire, and block types designed to make you curse in public. I got stuck on a board (somewhere in the 300s) for two straight hours—no exaggeration—only to beat it with one lucky booster the next morning. That feeling? Pure junkie joy. Events are clever and keep things spicy, but don’t expect generosity; the game loves to dangle boosters behind timers or paywalls. The visuals are sugary, pets are oddly adorable, and Petopia gives you something to work toward beyond levels. If you want straightforward puzzle fun with a persistent sting of “pay or grind,” this hits the spot. Don’t expect flawless fairness. Expect a charming headache. (Also: friends, save your extra moves for the chained reds.)
