About this app

Pocket Paws: My lovely dogs throws you into a goofy, clickable world of pups, prizes, and tiny fashion disasters. You breed pups, train them in mini-events (think agility, dock dives, flyball), and parade them through cities like San Francisco and London. The matches are fully animated in 3D — cute, sometimes chaotic. Progression leans on earning Gems and opening randomized crates (yes, loot boxes; tap the ‘i’ to see drop info). Don’t expect pro-level simulation. Expect light, repeatable gameplay with a collector’s itch. I name every weird-looking pup, and you will too. If you like nurturing virtual pets, tweaking stats, and grinding for that one rare coat — this one scratches that exact itch. Free-to-play with purchases; plan your patience (and maybe your wallet).

Editor's Review

Okay — confession time. I spent an entire Thursday night breeding a Jack Russell only to realize its personality was... terrible. True story. Pocket Paws is not subtle. It’s bright, loud, and a little needy (in the best way). Training is buttony and obvious — treats, taps, short drills — and you’ll feel small victories when a pup finally nails an agility run. The 3D events look clean for a mobile title; the animations give the dogs actual swagger. But don’t kid yourself: progression nudges you toward crates and Gems. Loot boxes show drop info (tap the little ‘i’), so at least they’re not hiding odds. I got stuck on a regional qualifier (two hours, furious tapping, controller-not-involved sweat). Still — I kept coming back. Why? The breeding combos that surprise you, the silly names you give, the tiny rush when your underdog wins. Not for hardcore sims. Great for late-night collectors who love cute chaos and occasional grind.

Pros

  • Large variety of breeds to collect and mix — keeps the collectible loop interesting
  • Clear, snappy mini-events (agility, dock jumps, flyball) with satisfying finish animations
  • Localized stages (San Francisco, London, Birmingham) add flavor to competitions
  • Crate system shows drop info when you tap the ‘i’ — transparency where it matters

Cons

  • Progression can feel pay-gated if you chase rare cosmetics
  • Training loops repeat quickly; you’ll grind the same drills a lot
  • Some breeding outcomes feel random (prepare for disappointment)
  • UI gets cluttered during events — my thumbs complained
