About this app
Number Match is a pocket-sized twist on the pen-and-paper game you probably scribbled on school margins — think Take Ten / Numberama but on your phone. The rules are stubbornly simple: find pairs of identical digits or pairs that add up to 10, tap them out, and try to empty the grid before you run out of moves. There’s no clock breathing down your neck. No rush. Which is good, because some boards will make you swear softly into your pillow. How it works: tap numbers one by one to remove them. Pairs link horizontally, vertically, diagonally — even wrapping from the end of one line to the next. Run out of moves? The remaining numbers slide into extra rows at the bottom, giving you another shot (or another headache). Use Hints when you’re stuck. Score higher for clearing the field and for clever long-range connects. “Give me a hint!” — yes, I have said that out loud while playing on the subway. There are daily challenges to keep you coming back, seasonal events with collectible postcards, and a steady trickle of trophies if you actually finish a month’s challenge. Target audience? People who like low-pressure brain teasers, commuters with a few minutes to kill, parents looking for a mild mental warm-up, and anyone who once loved matching games but hates frantic timers. This isn’t a flashy cash grab. The art is clean, the gameplay is immediate, and the learning curve is short. Expect addictive loops — and occasional repetition if you grind too long. Also — small confession — I’ve lost a streak because of one sloppy move. It happens. If you want a portable number puzzle that trains attention and gives you tiny dopamine hits without demanding perfection, Number Match is worth a download. Play a round. Then another. Then try to beat your own ridiculous score.
Editor's Review
I downloaded Number Match on a whim and then—surprise—I played for an hour straight while waiting for dinner. I’m not kidding. The gameplay hooked me because it’s elegant and annoyingly logical: match equal numbers or pairs summing to ten and try to clear the board. No timer. No frantic swipes. Just math and patience (and a little pride when you clear a full field). I got stuck on what I now call The Third-Row Trap — spent two hours there (yes, two) and nearly tossed my phone. Seriously. I kept replaying the same pattern until a hint nudged me in the right direction. The hints are fair — not a cheat, more like a nudge. The daily challenges add a nice streak motivation; they’re not ridiculously hard but they’re also not hand-holding. Minor gripes: ads can feel intrusive after a losing streak, and the progression gets a touch repetitive after long sessions. Also, I wish there was a tiny replay of the last move (for the clumsy among us). But overall — it’s a calm, addictive number puzzle I actually recommend to friends. Player: “One more round?” Me: “Nope. One more.” If you want a simple, brainy app that doesn’t demand your soul, this is it. If you want flashy visuals or controller support, look elsewhere. For what it aims to be — a satisfying number-matching puzzle — it mostly delivers.
