About this app
I still fire this up when I need a brain-break that actually behaves like one. Flow Free is a minimalist puzzle where you draw pipes between matching colors until the whole grid is covered—no overlaps allowed. There are over 2,500 handcrafted puzzles and a Time Trial mode if you crave speed (or stress). Clean visuals, playful pops of color, and little sound cues make each solved board feel unfairly rewarding. This isn’t flashy. It won’t stare back at you. It just asks for focus, a stubborn thumb, and maybe an hour lost at 2 a.m. Great for commutes, waiting rooms, and those “one-more-level” moments. If you like logic that bites back, this one’s worth the download.
Editor's Review
Okay—confession time. I smashed my thumb against a 7x7 for two hours (no shame). Flow Free hooks you with a simple rule: match colors, don’t cross pipes, cover every square. Sounds dumb? It’s not. It sneaks up on you. Early boards are soothing. Then—bam—complexity. I loved the Time Trial because it turns calm puzzles into tiny, delicious panic sessions. The UI is tidy; the audio is tiny but satisfying (those pop sounds are oddly wholesome). This isn’t a graphics flex. Don’t expect story or fanfare. Expect clever constraints and pocket-sized obsession. Some levels repeat patterns, and the difficulty spikes can feel unfair. But when a board clicks? Joy. Pure, simple joy. If you want a brain-teaser that’s portable, cheap on attention, and ruthless when you’re sloppy—give it a shot. (Also: blame me if you lose three hours.)
Pros
- Huge puzzle library—thousands of handcrafted levels across many grid sizes
- Time Trial adds pressure for speedruns and short, frantic sessions
- Clear visuals and satisfying touch feedback (those little pops feel good)
Cons
- Difficulty jumps can be abrupt—expect frustrating spikes
- Some level packs recycle similar patterns (less variety at times)
- No narrative or progression beyond level unlocking
